Brakes servicing

At Quik Speed Brake and Mechanical, we not only service brakes. We also re-manufacture brake shoes. We are the only place on the Sunshine Coast that still rebonds your old brake shoes. So if you bring in your brake shoes all worn out, we put them through a series of machines. They get sandblasted and rust proofed back to a bare carcass. The important part is to make sure there’s no rust on the bonding surface. It then gets coated in Plastilock. That way, when the bonding goes on, it doesn’t actually peel any of the glue off, and that’s what keeps the shoe on there.

When they come out, they’ve got new brake material on. Next, we put them through the different machines. One radiuses the shoes to suit your drums, and another takes the edges off the sides.

Remember, if another company says they do Brake Bonding on the Sunshine Coast, they don’t. We are the only company on the Sunshine Coast that does Brake Bonding in-house which is saving you money and time!

We can also do your tractor shoes; any old tractor such as your old Massey Ferguson, trucks, four-wheel drives, funny little pads for your go-kart, even weird and wonderful winch bands, trawler bands, slew brakes, wet brakes that run in oil, clutch facings; any of your friction needs. Brakes Boosters

Here at Quik Speed Brake and Mechanical, we occasionally get to work on some beautiful vintage cars. This Mustang originally came out of the factory with no brake booster. So if you’ve got an old vintage car that doesn’t have any brake booster, hence, you’ve probably got a really hard brake pedal.

At Quik Speed Brake & Mechanical, we can fit a remote reservoir booster master cylinder. We can either tuck them up underneath your guard, or mount them down the front. We hook up your original brake lines, run through the hybrid boost and then out to your brakes.

Once you’ve got a boosted brake system, so you’ll have a nice soft pedal.
